Databases

In order to strengthen the national and international visibility and importance of the Institute in the scientific as well as non-scientific environment, the new core facility "Databases" was established. The department develops, bundles and networks the various databases of the LSB. These include the Souci-Fachmann-Kraut Nutrition Tables and the open-access database "Leibniz-LSB Odorant DB" as well as the open-access database "Flavor DB", which is still under development.

The aim of the core facility is to develop and provide suitable communication structures that accelerate the transfer of scientific data generated and collected at the LSB into practice and thus promote translational food research. This includes industrial, scientific as well as societal application areas.
