Accessibility Statement
This accessibility statement applies to the website of the Leibniz Institute for Food Systems Biology at the Technical University of Munich (Leibniz-LSB@TUM). It is based on the requirements of the Bavarian Disability Equality Act Behindertengleichstellungsgesetz BayBGG. The technical requirements for accessibility are derived from BITV 2.0 (Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance) of the Federal Office of Justice.
How accessible is the website?
The website is only partially accessible. The requirements of BITV 2.0 are currently not fully met.
Non-accessible content
- Some descriptions for graphics and tables are missing.
- Media and text alternatives for images and videos are partly missing.
- Alternative texts for control elements are missing in some cases.
- Colors and contrasts do not always meet accessibility requirements.
- Not all documents (e.g., PDF files) are available in an accessible format.
- There is currently no version of the website in simplified language.
Explanations regarding the lack of accessibility
- The current website of Leibniz-LSB@TUM was published in 2018 and only partially complies with the current accessibility standards according to BITV 2.0.
- If the effort involved is too great, appropriate considerations must be made (see “Disproportionate burden”).
Disproportionate burden
According to Article 5 of Directive (EU) 2016/2102, the following is considered non-accessible:
- Lack of texts in simplified language.
Scientific texts cannot be fully rendered in simplified language and are primarily intended for a specialist audience with a scientific background. In some cases, technical terms and specific formulations are used, for example in project descriptions.
Measures to improve accessibility
The Knowledge Transfer, Press and Public Relations Team is continuously working, within its
technical capabilities, to improve accessibility. Existing content is being gradually adapted. All new content will be made accessible to the extent possible.
Creation of this statement
This statement was created on October 21, 2025. The technical review of accessibility was carried out by the internet agency dynamicms and by the Knowledge Transfer, Press and Public Relations Team.
